The Transportation Office of Baltimore County Public Schools is responsible for the safe transportation of more than 77,000 students to and from school every day. To ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient transportation system, the office operates approximately 785 bus routes per day departing from 11 BCPS facilities and 5 contractor facilities. Recently, the Blue Jay shuttle service has been introduced to provide convenient travel to and from the East Baltimore campus. This free shuttle service is available for all Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins University staff, professors, residents, postdoctoral fellows, students and Johns Hopkins Medicine affiliates who visit their homes and campuses in the service area.
All TransDev vehicles assigned to Baltimore County are clearly marked with signs that say BACO MA (Baltimore County Health Care). To use this service, you must first ask your medical provider to complete and sign a Baltimore County Medical Transportation Certificate Form and send it to the Baltimore County Health Department or Hart to Heart, as appropriate. This service is available both to residents of Baltimore County who meet medical assistance requirements (Medicaid) and to medical services covered by medical assistance and for which there is no other means of transportation.
